Inflatable Kayaks



Inflatable Kayaks are the latest in a long line Kayak designs, they have become extemely tough and portable and offer a great escape into the outdoors.

If you are short of space, or need something that can fit in the boot of your car, then this is for you. They come in all shapes and sizes and can cater for 1, 2, or more passengers depending on the type of Kayak.

Inflatable Kayaks make great Fishing Kayaks, as they tend to be more stable than a plastic or fibreglass kayak, whilst offering a sturdy shell. The new toughened materials are able to deflect piercings from Fish hooks and rocks, but are still softer and more kid friendly than the original sea kayaks.

The Kayaks can be inflated by Hand, foot, or electric pumps, and are made of neoprene, pvc, or polyurethane coated cloth. They mostly work at low pressures below 3psi, and have multiple compartments in the event one is punctured, the kayak can remain afloat.

Repair kits are often provided and can be applied very quickly.

The only disadvantage with Inflatable Kayaks is the amount of effort required to paddle them, as they are not as streamlined as a traditional kayak and tend to have to break through waves or wind rather than cut throught them.

They have a very small turning circle and are easy to master, so great for getting out on the river wiht the family, or spend a day fishing. If you want to get out and ride rapids or speed through rivers you would be better off purchasing an Ocean Kayak or sit-on Kayak.
